Domain Length Requirement on Profy Alpha

Web

Thought I’d give the new blogging platform Profy a try based on reviews by Erick Schonfeld at TechCrunch and Allen Stern at CenterNetworks. Using one of Allen’s invite codes, I got an invitation about 12 8 hours after I registered, which makes me wonder if there is some human intervention or moderation in the registration process for the invitation-only alpha.

More interesting, when I tried to register “xidey.profy.com” as the tertiary domain name, I get this error:

profy domain length

I wonder why there should be a requirement for that element to be more than five characters? Anyone know?
