I actually thought I’d never say that “Pandora needs improving.” It feels a little weird rolling off the tongue keyboard. But there it is. The beef? Pandora is not diverse enough with its selections. My main station is based off the most excellent tune ever, Addicted to Bass. But I swear if I hear “Get Together” by Madonna one more time, or anything by Ayumi Hamasaki, my head’s going to burst.

I think that Pandora needs to borrow some ideas from AI and introduce some diversity selectors into their algorithm. Mutation, crossover, one-step moves in the search space….something. Right now it seems like I hear the same 50 songs over and over and over and over….
