New Balance SC 602 — 4E Width!

Uncategorized

Dominic from Shoreline Wide Shoes called last Friday with news that my special-order NB SC 602 soccer cleats had arrived.  I had a previous pair, but they were only 2E, and I felt that I needed a bit more width.

I’ve think that they are totally acceptable, but still not perfect.  Something about the engineering of a soccer cleat means that the toe needs to be a bit pointed, whereas the widest part of my foot perhaps a half an inch behind where the toes meet the forefoot.  A pointed toe still feels cramped, even at 4E.

However: this is a nice shoe, inexpensive (about $60 USD), and will fit the bill for my leisurely soccer career.

New Balance SC 602, redux

Soccer, Sports

I finally decided that my new NB SC 602 soccer cleats were just a bit too narrow, even in 2E width. So I called Dominic with Shoreline Wide Shoes and he is arranging to get a pair of SC 602s in 4E ordered. It will take about a month to get them in, so I will post again and let you know the differences between the 2E and 4E once I’ve had a chance to get them out on the pitch.
